Freeriders is a family run motorbike garage with an attached hostel with secure parking. There is an attached hostel with secure parking. There’s also the Freeriders pub downstairs which serves heatty meals.
The mechanics can service all makes of bike or they can give you space to work on your bike yourself at no charge.
They stock a range of on and off road tyres including Michelin and Shinko brands at reasonable prices as well as brake pads, fork seals, air and oil filters. There’s also a good renge of helmets, gloves, goggles, off road protection, jackets, waterproofs etc… They ever had a pink leather jacket and chaps with tassles when I was there if you’re looking for bold fashion statement!
If you contact them in advance they can order special parts from Europe for you which take around a month to arrive.
The hostel offers simple bunk bed accommodation in several rooms with a shared shower and toilet for 2500T per night. There’s a washing machine that’s free to use, free wi-fi everywhere, a microwave kettle, and Fridge. An outside area with table and benches is usefull for cooking if you have your own equipment.
There’s a huge supermarket 10 minutes walk away and several local stores on the doorstep.
The PUB downstairs is an atmospheric place for a few beers with old bikes and memorabilia on the walls. They serve hearty meals and there’s live music on Friday and Saturday nights. They ever have instruments available to play if you’re got the talent!!
The great thing about Freeriders is that it’s all run by one extended family who seem to value a good atmosphere and support to travelers not quick financial again.
I’m Robin . An Over lander from England passing through on a GS and I want to spread the word about this great little set up and friendly family. A perfect place to regroup after the long ride from Europe and to get your bike and yourself ready for the rigours of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan or China perhaps.
Yana Is your main point of contact. She speaks good English and will help you communicate with the mechanics and other staff.
I hope you enjoy Freeriders and happy travels.
